Willie C. Spann

Willie C. Spann, 81, of Fremont, OH departed this life on Thursday, September 15, 2022. He was born on June 18, 1941, in Abbeville, AL to Willie E. and Susie (Grimsley) Spann.  He was a 1963 graduate of Abbeville High School.   Willie married Janice Martin on April 29, 1961, in Abbeville.  He worked at the Kelsey Hayes Foundry in Fremont for thirty years and retired in the late 1990’s.  Willie enjoyed reading the newspaper and sitting outside on the porch.

Willie is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Janice Spann; children, Deborah (Jessie) Heidelburg, Larry (Kim) Spann, all of Fremont; sisters, Hallie Spann of New York and Vonnie Mae Spann of Alabama; grandchildren, Darien (Elizabeth) Spann, Nashville, TN, Jalen (Stephanie) Heidelburg, Fremont, OH, Taylor Spann, Fremont, OH; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Marien.

He was preceded by his parents; daughter, Gloria Ann Spann; brothers, Willie A., Freddy and Richard Spann; brothers-in-law, Robert Martin, Charlie Lee Martin and Bill Martin.

He will be truly missed by family and all who knew him.

Services and burial are private for the family.
