William A. Wensinger

William A. Wensinger, 81, passed away at ProMedica Memorial Hospital on January 22, 2024, with his loving wife by his side.  He was born in Fremont on April 30, 1942.  He was the son of Norwood and Rhea (Dorr) Wensinger.  Bill was a 1960 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1967 during the Vietnam War.  Bill was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Medal for his service.

Bill married Mary Ann Halbisen on October 15, 1972 at St. Ann Catholic Church.  He worked as an automotive technician at Al Baumann Chevrolet for over 35 years, until he retired in 2007.  He was an avid car collector.  Bill loved spending time with his family.  He was a kind man and was always willing to help others.  Bill will certainly be missed by his relatives and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Wensinger, Fremont; daughter, Brigette (John) Wensinger-Janssens, Perrysburg, OH; grandson, Griffin Janssens, Perrysburg, OH; siblings, Wayne Wensinger, and Neal (Joan) Wensinger both of Fremont, Haven (Marianne) Wensinger, Columbus, OH and Cathy Wensinger, Seguin, TX and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy Wensigner Boggs.

It was Bill’s wish to have no service at this time.
