William Charles Fisher, 77, of Cleveland, OH and formerly of Fremont, OH passed away on April 21, 2018 at St. John’s Medical Center, Westlake, OH. He was born on August 19, 1940 in Fremont, OH the son of Dolor and Alma (House) Fisher. He attended St. Joseph Catholic High School.
William served in the US Army from 1959-1961 and was stationed at Fort Richardson in Alaska. He also served as a merchant marine in the Great Lakes on the SS Middletown and SS Armco from 1965-1966.
William worked at the Sugar Beet Factory for many years and then worked for HJ Heinz for over twenty years until he retired. He was an avid walker and loved to fish. He most recently enjoyed feeding and watching birds.
William is survived by his siblings, Sylvan (Cherell) Fisher and Vincent Fisher both of Fremont, Elaine (Brent) Mackey, Port Clinton, and Elizabeth Key, Cleveland and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Fisher and niece, Nicole Fisher.
William was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation: Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, April 26, 2018; 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH military honors will be provided by the American Legion and VFW.
