Vince (Vincent) Golembiowski, 91 of Clyde, OH passed away at his home on Sunday May 19, 2024. He was born in Clyde, OH to John and Violet (Schmitke) Golembiowski on July 29, 1932. Vince attended Clyde Senior High School as a member of the class of 1950 and officially received his Diploma in 2021 at the age of 88.
Leaving High School early, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War as a proud member of the 335th Fighter Squadron, Fourth Fighter Interceptor F-86 Sabre MiG Killers from 1951 to 1954.
Vince married Laurene Nieset on September 19, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, for a wonderful 70 years of marriage. He was a Jeep Repair Mechanic for Whirlpool until retiring in 1992. Vince was currently the oldest living Sandusky County Deputy Sheriff, having served under Sheriff Ted Paul.
A certified pilot, Vince spent countless hours in the air with his family. He also continued service to his community by being a Green Creek Township Trustee for sixteen (16) years as well as a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Church in multiple previous capacities including Lector and Lay Minister.
Vince was a Charter member of Clyde VFW 3343, Past President of the Clyde Eagles, and also a member of Clyde Moose and Clyde St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus.
Vince is survived by his wife, Laurene (Nieset) Golembiowski; brother, Ronald Golembiowski, Leesburg, FL; daughters, Renette (Fred) Audritsh, Green Springs, OH, Laurie (CJ Good) Halbisen, Fremont, OH, Vicki (Rick) Rowe, Clyde, OH; son, Michael (Amy) Golembiowski, Clyde, OH; grandchildren, Tina (Robert) Haas, Tami Satterlee, Erick Audritsh, Krista (Mike) Hernandez, Britta (Fred Shearon) Luebcke, Wren Golembiowski, Dillon (Katelyn) Holmes, Baylee (Logan) Frederick; great-grandchildren, Cheyann (Dustin) Hetrick, Ryleigh Satterlee, Mady, Camden, and Logan Hernandez, Buck Audritsh, Wade Holmes; great-great grandchildren, Oaklyn and Hayden Hetrick.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Golembiowski; son, Robert Golembiowski; sisters, Violet (Bill) Faunce, Melba (Harry) Kosman, Marvel (Jim) Cherry; brother, John (Mariellen) Golembiowski; sister-in-law, Jeanne Golembiowski.
Vince’s favorite phrase that will be remembered forever is simply: “LCNME – All My Love – All My Life”.
A public graveside service will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Clyde; Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10:30am, with a reception to immediately follow at Clyde VFW, 847 West Maple Street, Clyde, OH.
Memorials may be made in Vince’s honor to the St. Mary Parish, Clyde Food Pantry (c/o) Clyde Police Dept, or to the donor’s choice of recipient.
