Tomas Obregon, 91, of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born on December 29, 1921 in Islitas, TX, the son of Ventura and Juanita (Martinez) Obregon.
Tomas married Petra Melchor on November 11, 1940 in Laredo, TX and she survives. He was the Owner/Operator of the El Aguila Bakery from 1972 until he retired in 1983. Tomas also worked as a Machine Operator at Ohio Lime Company for thirty-three years. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church until it closed and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He loved fishing and was always baking.
Tomas is survived by his wife, Petra Obregon, Fremont, OH; children, Juanita (John) Patton, Maumee, OH, Cruz Rodriguez, Fremont, OH, Petra (Tony) Hernandez, Gibsonburg, OH, Teresa Arriaga, Lorain, OH, Tomas “Tom” (Felicia) Obregon, Jr., Fremont, OH; sister, Baldomera (Marcelino) Zapata, Geona, OH; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Maria Lopez; siblings, Luz Obregon, Gavino Obregon, Maria Geronima Rodriguez; son-in-law, Narciso Rodriguez.
