Thomas “Tom” C. Koester, Sr.

Thomas “Tom” C. Koester, Sr., 76, of Fremont, OH passed away at Countryside Continuing Care Center on Tuesday, March 03, 2015. He was born on August 26, 1938 in Toledo, OH, the son of William and Nina (Brown) Koester.

Tom served in the U.S. Navy. He married Rosalyn “Rose” M. Edwards at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont and she survives. Tom worked at Tony’s / Nickels Bakery until it closed.

Tom was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Fremont VFW, Eagles and Moose Clubs. He enjoyed fishing, shopping at Flea Markets, playing the lottery and collecting elephants.

Tom is survived by his wife, Rosalyn “Rose” M. Koester; son, Thomas C. Koester, Jr., both of Fremont, OH and brother, William Koester of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Koester; siblings, Richard Koester and Madonna “Bonnie” McCarthy.

Visitation: Monday, March 9, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH.

Service: March 9, 2015, Noon at the funeral home.

Memorials: American Cancer Society or to the family.
