Thomas Joseph Arnold, 63, of Durbin Drive, Fremont, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on July 29, 1949 in Fremont to Everett “Joe” J. and Helen (Fisher) Arnold. Tom was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph High School and earned an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Terra Community College.
Tom served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; two Army Commendation Medals; Combat Infantry Badge and M-14 Sharpshooter Medal.
Tom worked as a Chef form many restaurants in Northwest Ohio. He was a member of the Am Vets in Tiffin, OH. He enjoyed socializing, the Cleveland Browns, reading, making crafts, thrift shopping and loved spending time with family and friends. He always had a good time.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Valerie (Roger Eastham) Arnold, Mingo Junction, OH and Veronica (Matt) Cain, Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Kiarra and Lucy; mother, Helen Arnold, Fremont, OH siblings, Mike (Debbie) Arnold, Clyde, OH, Rick (Jody Coleman) Arnold and Barb (Pat Lynch) Soski both of Fremont, OH; four nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews; former wife, Linda Bell, Fremont, OH.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett “Joe” J. Arnold and niece, Jessica Arnold.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.
A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
