Thomas J. Spieldenner, 80, of Fremont, OH passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. He was born on April 12, 1937 in Fremont, the son of Paul E. and Theresa (Paulken) Spieldenner. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and Tiffin University where he received an Associate Degree in Business.
Tom served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was called to active duty during the Vietnam Era and received a Marksman Badge (Carbine). He then returned to the Army Reserves to finish his Military obligation.
Tom married Beverly Kindred on September 25, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont and she survives. Tom was a salesman for over fifty years and part owner of Paul E. Spieldenner Company in Fremont. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a fifty-year member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom was also a member of the Fremont Moose, VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Beverly Spieldenner, Fremont, OH; children, Brenda (John) Havens, Burgoon, OH, Paula (Tom) Parkey, Sheffield Village, OH, Melisa (Eric) Rini, Pickerington, OH, Jennifer (Rick) Alexsonshk, Canton, OH, David (Jill) Spieldenner, Gilbert, AZ; siblings, John (Carolyn) Spieldenner, Port Clinton, OH, Carolyn (Joe) Ruble, Apollo Beach, FL and Mary (Jim) Weller, Sun City Center, FL; in laws, Pat Spieldenner, Marian Kindred, Jay and Laverne Kindred, fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles Spieldenner and James (Mary) Spieldenner.
The family of Tom would like to thank all the caregivers who took wonderful care of him during his time of illness.
Visitation: Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, March 17, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with an hour of visitation at the church prior to mass.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and the VFW.
Memorials: ProMedica Hospice or Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools.
