Thomas E. Hayes

Thomas E. Hayes, 87, of Fremont, OH passed away at Bethesda Care Center on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.  He was born in Jacksonburg, WV to Ezra “Ellis” and Hazel “Pearl” (Hayhurst) Hayes on October 23. 1936.  He graduated from Pine Grove High School in West Virginia and went on to join the Army and National Guard.

Thomas was a truck driver for Genoa Harbor Manufacturing until 1995.  He also worked in the maintenance department for various companies in Rochester, MI.   He enjoyed walking and had a love for horses. Thomas dearly loved spending time with his family.

Thomas is survived by his daughter; Diana (Timothy) Freistuhler, Oak Harbor, OH; grandchildren; Jennifer Gill, Robert Gill, Jr and Elizabeth Cantu; great grandchildren; Alivia, Alison, Alycia, Achillies, Kaitlynn and one on the way, Ezra.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Roberta Potts; grandson, Stanley Donald Ray Galliher, Jr; sister, Helen Brenaman, Opal Willy, Ruth LeMasters, Margie Bedgood; brothers, Ralph, Howard, Jack and Ellis. 

A Graveside Service will take place at a later date.

 Memorials may be made in Thomas’ honor to Bethesda Care Center.
