Thomas L. Bennison Sr.

Thomas L. Bennison Sr., 88, of Fremont, OH, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Bethesda Care Center. Thomas was born on May 5, 1936 to Russell M. and Annette (Hunt) Bennison in Fremont. Thomas attended Fremont Ross High School. He married Marianne M. Ehrman on June 19, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont. 

Thomas was an Insurance Agent for Prudential Life Insurance for many years as well as a Die Setter for Eveready Battery for twenty-three years until he retired in 1992. He is a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Fremont. He loved travelling to Mount Dora, FL in the winters where he had a handyman business, “Let’s “B” Fair”. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family and camping with friends.

Thomas is survived by his wife of seventy years, Marianne M. Bennison; children, Carolyn (Dallas) Prater, Fostoria, OH, Ann Marie (Anthony) Darr, Fremont, OH, Thomas (Jeannine) Bennison Jr., Fremont, OH; sister, Lois Evelyn Magargle, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Joel (Stacey) Prater, Dwain Prater, Thomas L. Bennison III (Rachel Patterson), Craig (Kim) Bennison, Kyle (Michelle) Dukeshire, Alexander Darr, Emileigh Darr and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, John R. Bennison. 

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. with a rosary prayer service beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 1021 W. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. following visitation at the church. 

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. 

Luncheon will follow burial at the church. 

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice and St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
