Stanley Eugene Valentine, 95, of Fremont, OH passed away on November 15, 2016 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on March 10, 1921 in Seneca County, the son of Charles B. and Jessie (Hossler) Valentine. He was a graduate of Attica High School.
Stanley served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from August 5, 1942 to August 4, 1948 and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Medal (1 Star); American Area Medal; Good Conduct Medal; European-African-Middle East Service Medal (2 Stars); World War II Victory Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal.
Stanley married Imogene Lloyd on November 22, 1946 in Long Beach, CA and she preceded him in death in 1989. He was a farmer, tending his farm as well as farming for others. Stanley was also a school bus driver for Thompson School and a carpenter. He loved traveling in his mobile home and dearly loved his cat Garfield.
Stanley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Teri Valentine, Fremont, OH; grandsons, Matthew and Michael Peterman, Huron, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Imogene Valentine; daughter, Doris Ann Peterman and fourteen brothers and sisters.
Visitation and Service: Friday, November 18, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Services will begin at Noon at the funeral home with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and VFW. Pastor Gary Click will officiate.
Burial will take place at Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin, OH.
