Sean Brandt Mueller, 75, of Fremont, OH passed away on August 13, 2024 at his home encircled by his family. He was born on May 11,1949 in Dennison, OH the son of Ervin H. and Margaret E. (Merrick) Mueller. Sean was a 1967 graduate of Sandusky St. Mary’s High School.

 Sean married Amanda Chambers on December 18, 1982 in Fremont, OH and she survives. He worked for The Ohio State University at the North Central Agricultural Research Station in Fremont for forty-four years until he retired in 2014. Sean was awarded the OSU Service Award for his career and contributions to the research station.

 Sean was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as trustee and head of maintenance. He was ingenious at using scrap material to fabricate needed items and solutions to problems. Sean was a member of the Femont Pigeon Club. He raised and showed pigeons and competed in flying and rolling competitions. Sean enjoyed sports and played football, baseball, softball, and basketball, wrestled and boxed. He was proud to be part of the 1966 St. Mary’s Panthers football team, the only football team in school history with an undefeated season. Sean was a two time Golden Glove Champion. He enjoyed coaching his sons at various sports in their youth and cheering for his granddaughters at their softball events. Sean was a true dog lover. He had many special dogs over his lifetime. Sean raised and raced Alaskan Husky sled dogs for twenty years. He and his teams earned many medals including a world-standing gold medal. Most recently, Sean and his wife raised future service dog puppies for Canine Companions for Independence. Above all, Sean loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - building projects and playing pool with his sons, family campfires with s’mores made by his granddaughters, and walks with his wife and dogs. He often said he was greatly blessed. Sean’s life is characterized by the Bible verse

2 Timothy 4:7 - “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” 

Sean is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Amanda Mueller, Fremont; children, Ian (Erica) Mueller, Tiffin and Ethan (Stacey) Mueller, Toledo, Wendy Wirsche, Sandusky; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Emery, Sydney, Taylor and Kenneth; great grandson, Esa; siblings, Bill Mueller, Chicago, IL, Treacey (Debbie) Mueller, Noblesville, IN, Sharon Park, Oak Harbor, OH, Keith (Pat Tressler) Mueller, Lisbon, OH and sister-in-law, Kathie Mueller, Sandusky, OH.

 He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Allan Mueller and Kathleen Mueller; brother-in-law, Denny Park.

 The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

 It was Sean’s wish to have no services.
