Sandra L. Bennison

Sandra L. Bennison, 84, of Fremont, OH went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 13, 2023 at her home.  She was born on October 12, 1939 in Alexandria, VA the daughter of Paul J. and Mary Madeline (Turner) Phillips.  She was a 1957 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

Sandy married James Bennison on December 14, 1957 in Angola, IN and he survives.  She worked various retail jobs throughout her career and retired from Great Scot Markets as a cashier after nine years of service.  Sandy was an active member at Grace Community Church.  She enjoyed Hallmark movies, reading and shopping.  Sandy loved her dog “Gracie” and spending time with her family and friends.

Sandy is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, James Bennison, Fremont; children, Rick Bennison, Fremont, Cathy McFerren, Melbourne, FL and Amy (Tom) Meyer, Fremont; grandchildren, Ashley (Joe) Appinites, Brittany and Meganne Bennison, Nathan McFerren, Mandy (Matt) Watson, Derek (Morgann) Meyer, Matthew and Kyle Meyer; great grandchildren, Emma, Sam, Leo, Sadie, Callan and Claire.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Phillips.

Visitation: Friday, November 17, 2023 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.

Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
