Ryan E. Groot, Sr.

Ryan E. Groot, Sr., 32, of Fremont, OH died unexpectedly on April 30, 2017 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1984 in Fremont to Dean Groot and Melissa (Homler) Distel.

Ryan enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors and with his children. He was life of any party.

Ryan is survived by his father, Dean Groot; mother, Melissa (Frank) Distel both of Fremont, OH; children, Ryan E. Groot, Jr., Gage M. Groot, Klohee Groot, Sophia Groot, Jeremiah Groot, Jayson Tuttle and Vivian Groot; siblings, Jason Groot, Erica (Thomas) Groot, Jared Groot and half-brother, Jeremy Schoch, all of Fremont, OH; grandmothers, Margie Groot and Mary Ann Homler both of Fremont, OH; several aunts and uncles; companion, Casey Stine, Fremont, OH.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Francis Homler and Donald Groot.

Visitation: Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 4 pm – 7 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
