Ruth E. Meyer
Ruth E. Meyer, 79, of Fremont, OH passed away at her home with her daughter by her side on Sunday, January 3, 2016. She was born on November 15, 1936 in Piqua, OH, the daughter of Walter and Jenny (Williams) Driscoll.
Ruth married Charles A. Woolard on April 2, 1954 and he preceded her in 1979. She then married Dayle E. Meyer on July 23, 1979 in Nashville, TN and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2009.
Ruth was an Assembler at Eaton Controls for many years then worked at the V.F.W. until she retired. She enjoyed fishing, camping, Bluegrass festivals, going to the V.F.W. and dancing.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Terry Billow, Fremont, OH; sons, Chuck (Bekki) Woolard and Dale Woolard of Florida; step children, Barb Griffith of Florida, Sandy Woolard of California, Carol Gentry, Port Clinton, OH and Debra Meyer, Gibsonburg, OH; grandchildren, Chariti Billow, Hope Billow, James G. Billow, Amanda Woolard, Charles G. Woolard and Kelly Commisso; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles A. Woolard; second husband, Dayle E. Meyer; newborn daughter, Cheryl; siblings, George, John “Jackie”, Walter “Junior” and Howard “Gene” Driscoll and Helen Conley.
Visitation: Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.
Memorial Service: Saturday, January 9, 2016; 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
