FREMONT: Rosella “Rose” Rich, 93, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 26, 2013. She was born on August 22, 1920 in Ravenna, OH to William S. and Elizabeth R. (Byers) Nelson. She was a graduate of Clyde High School and the School of Chicago Interior Decorating and Design.
Rose married Robert C. “Bob” Rich on May 10, 1941. After 68 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on January 24, 2010.
Rose loved to help other people decorate their homes or their place of business. Her decorating skills were well known in Fremont and surrounding towns.
Rose began her decorating career at Village Interiors in Bradenton, Florida. She later relocated back to Fremont where she worked at Bunting Furniture; and then spent many years as the decorator at Spieldenner’s until her retirement in 1983.
Rose also loved to cook, make flower arrangements, travel, go shopping and spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Dee Ann (Don) Stotz of Fremont and her son, Bill (Bobbi) Rich of Palm Desert, California; grandchildren, Deb (Jim) Zimmerman, Shari (Doug) Mehling, Jodi Busack, Donny (Holly) Stotz, Kerri (Erik) Cutforth, Robert (Niki) Rich and Tom (Valerie DiCenso) Rich; great grandchildren, James McKinney, Kyle Mehling, Kelli Mehling, Kristopher Busack, Conner Busack, and Maxwell Stotz.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Paul David Rich; brothers, Walter E. Nelson and Victor H. Nelson.
Visitation: Thursday, October 31, 2013, from 3-7 p.m. at Wonderly-Horvath-Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 East State Street, Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, November 1, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont, with Fr. Kenneth Lill officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
