Rosaura R. Perez was the third born in a family of fourteen children on July 21, 1951 and she died on April 15, 2018. She was the daughter of Evangelist Florencio R. Perez, who died in 1995, and Eustolia R. Perez, who died in 2015.
Rosaura spent a portion of her youth as an apprentice testing TV tubes in her father’s electronics repair shop and spent a larger portion of her youth at home with her mother helping to raise her younger siblings.
Rosaura never married or had children of her own yet continued her care of kids as a Sunday school teacher and youth pastor. A diagnosis of multiple sclerosis cut her ministry short, yet she still found a way to give of herself by becoming a pen pal for a prison ministry program. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching and collecting classic movies and TV shows. She also collected books, glass figurines, coins, and postage stamps.
She had a fondness for being outside and caring for birds and other wild animals. Rosaura had a particular affinity for stray cats and proved this by sheltering over eighty of them in the span of her later years.
Rosaura will be remembered by her siblings, Rogelio, Raquel, Rebecca, Rosita, Irene, Crystela, Esmeralda, Gilberto, Maria Alice, Norma, Helen, Christina and Florencio; her many nieces and nephews along with all those who loved her and of course her stray pets.
