Rosalyn M. Cowdrey, 80, of Fremont, OH passed away on September 24, 2016 surrounded by her family at Elmwood Nursing Home in Fremont, OH. She was born on September 14, 1936 in Fremont, OH the daughter of John and Juanita (Haugh) Lemmerman. She was a 1954 graduate of Old Fort High School and a 1957 graduate of Riverside School of Nursing in Toledo, OH.
Rosalyn married Calvin C. Cowdrey on April 6, 1957 in Toledo, OH and preceded her in death on January 3, 2011. She was employed as a nurse at several hospitals in the area until she retired in 1998. She was a member of John’s Lutheran Church and formerly St. Mark Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for twenty years. Rose was also the treasurer of the Mad River and Nickel Plate Society. She enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, cooking and gardening. She also liked to play bingo, Bunco and dominos. Rosalyn would spend the winters in Florida where she would help to organize various actives for her park.
Rosalyn is survived by her children, Kevin (Jerri) Cowdrey, Connie (Charles) Dagg and Robert (Dannita) Cowdrey all of Fremont; siblings, Eileen Howell, Lakeside Marblehead, Wilma Diessler, Meadville, PA, Helen Heyman, Tiffin, John Lemmerman, Clayton, IN and Gilbert Lemmerman, Toledo; seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
She was preceded by her parents; husband, Calvin Cowdrey and son, Mikeal A. Cowdrey.
Memorial Service: Saturday, October 1, 2016; 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 212 N. Clover St., Fremont, OH with Pastor Scott Mauch officiating. There will be a light meal being offered in the Parish house directly after the service.
Private Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
