Rosalyn Jeanne Dumminger

Rosalyn Jeanne (Ihnat) Dumminger, 79, of Fremont, OH passed away at her home on September 12, 2024 after a brave battle with diabetes. She was a fiercely devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. She will be missed immeasurably by many. Roz was born on April 25, 1945 to John and Bertha Lillian (Rericha) Ihnat in Huron, OH. She was raised in Lakeside/Marblehead and Fremont graduating from Fremont Ross High School in 1963. Roz married Kenneth Dumminger on June 27, 1970 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and he survives.

Roz was a sweet and caring child with a fondness for animals, especially dogs. As she grew, she leveraged that pension for connection by working for the Fremont Credit Bureau, Moore Business Forms, ChemiTrol Corp and finally the Sandusky County Juvenile Court where she retired from. Roz was a member of many organizations in Fremont including, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Soroptomist Club and donated her time to various charities.

Roz was a dedicated and warm mother, focusing on developing kindness, empathy and integrity in her daughter, Patty. As a wife she was loyal, patient and wonderfully loving to a man who gave her his entire world. Roz was vibrant, sweet, funny and smart but will be remembered for always having fun. She was always willing to attend a party with family or friends. She truly lived her life to the fullest.

Roz is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Ken Dumminger; daughter, Patty Dumminger, both of Fremont; sister, Bertha Luise Ihnat, Columbus, OH; brothers and sisters-in-law, Janet (Joe) Kohr, Fort Wayne, IN, Denny (Pat) Dumminger, Marilyn Dumminger, Sherrie (Doug) Biggert all of Fremont and Tom (Beth) Dumminger, Stevensville, MI and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Martin and Alma Dumminger and Godson/nephew, Brandan Biggert.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wonderly and the staff at NOMS Healthcare for their dedication and support.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St, Fremont, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024; 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH with an hour of gather prior to Mass at the church. Mass is live streamed at https://www.nationalwebcasts.com/webcasts/sheart/

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Sandusky County Community Foundation or Life Connections of Ohio, Toledo Chapter.
