Ronald C. Mahr

Ronald C. Mahr, 83 of Fremont, OH passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was born on October 10, 1940 in Sandusky County to Bertha (Lagrou) Mahr. Ron was a 1960 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and then went on to serve in the National Guard for six years.

Ron married Sharon Winklea on July 23, 1966 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked as a stock handler at Whirlpool for thirty-five years, retiring in 2004. Ron had a passion for sprint car racing. 

Ron is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Sharon Mahr; daughters, Ronda (Robert) Fitzgerald, Ronelle (Mark) Prenzlin; granddaughters, MaKennah Fitzgerald, Emmah Fitzgerald, Alexis Prenzlin and brother, Donald (Lillie) Mahr, all of Fremont, OH.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.

Service will be held at the funeral home following the visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
