Ronald “Kay” Willoughby

Ronald “Kay” K. Willoughby, 91, of Burgoon, OH passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Emergency Room at ProMedica Memorial Hospital.  He was born April 9, 1930 in Tiffin, OH to Henry and Gretta (Stoner) Willoughby.  Kay was a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and received a bachelor’s degree in science and business administration from Bowling Green State University.  Kay served in the U.S. Army from January 15, 1952 to December 8, 1953 and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and National Defense Service Medal.  He married Donna J. Pfeiffer on October 14, 1961 in Blackberry, OH and she survives.

Kay taught accounting at Terra Community College for thirty years and retired in 1999.  He was a member of Fremont Baptist Church and enjoyed farming, gardening, canning and playing the piano.  In his early years he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Kay is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Donna J. Willoughby, Burgoon, OH; children, Jeffrey Willoughby, Burgoon, OH, Mark (Whitney) Willoughby, Marysville, OH, Clinton Willoughby, Burgoon, OH; grandchildren, Haley, Connor, Samantha and Annalece and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Willoughby.

, 10:00 am to Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Services will begin at Noon at the funeral home with Military Honors provided by the VFW and American Legion to follow.

Burial will take place at Old Mission Cemetery, Crane Twp/Upper Sandusky, OH at a later date.

Memorials can be made in Kay’s honor to Fremont Baptist Church, 931 Everett Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.
