Roger A. Dearsman, Sr.

Roger A. Dearsman, Sr., 76, of Green Springs, OH passed away on September 3, 2014 in Norwalk, OH. He was born on August 26, 1938 in Green Springs to Ovid and Margaruett (Roth) Dearsman. He was a 1957 graduate of Green Springs High School.

Roger married Evelyn M. Mizen on October 26, 1963 in Tiffin, OH and she survives. He was a lifelong family farmer in the Green Springs area. He had also worked seasonally at Pioneer Sugar for over 30 years.

Roger loved to travel to Florida in the winters with his wife, Evelyn. They enjoyed going to the beach every day. He was the president of the Green Springs FFA when he was a senior in high school.

Roger is survived by his wife of fifty years, Evelyn Dearsman, Green Springs; children, Roger (Christine) Dearsman, Clyde, Cynthia (William) Ross, Fremont, Brian (Jessie) Dearsman, The Woodlands, TX and Jason Dearsman, Green Springs; siblings, Gloria Pelfrey, Orange, TX, Yvonne (Nelson) Cleveland, Fremont, Valerie (John) Kosa, Marblehead, William (Cathy) Dearsman, Bellevue; grandchildren, Laura (Nick) Sauber, Baltimore, MD, Brad (Echo) Dearsman, Beaver Creek, TX, Ashley (Derek) Kovalcik, St. Joseph, MI, Lauren and Kasey Dearsman both of The Woodlands, TX, Autum and Hunter Dearsman both of Green Springs; great grandchildren, Lukas and Jakob Sauber, Elijah and Ayla Dearsman and Evelyn Kovalcik.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ovid “Sonny” Dearsman.

Visitation: Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH.

Service: Tuesday, September 9, 2014; 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Certified Funeral Celebrant Susann Robitski Zimmernan officiating.
