Roberto Salazar Garcia, 62, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Valley View Healthcare Center. He was born May 19, 1951 in Gibsonburg, OH, the son of Vincente and Francisca (Salazar) Garcia. He was a graduate of Gibsonburg High School.
Roberto served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1974 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He previously worked at Chrysler Corp. in Indiana and then at Whirlpool Corp. in Clyde, OH. Roberto was a member of Templo Gensaret Church in Fremont. He loved fishing, hunting and was an avid Ohio State fan.
Roberto is survived by his siblings, Joe S. Garcia, Fostoria, OH, Lupe (Dale) Krotzer, Lima, OH, Rosie (Oscar) Balderas, Velia (Lupe) Iracheta both of Harlingen, TX, Oscar Garcia, Sandusky, OH, Ofelia (Kevin) Langmeyer, Massillon, OH, Ida (Ene) Vento, LaFeria, TX, Mario Garcia, Louie Garcia both of Columbus, OH, Gus Garcia, Reno, NV and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Efren and Raul Garcia and Lydia Silva.
