Rick Ray Myers

Rick Ray Myers, 71, of Fremont, OH passed away on May 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.   He was born on October 9, 1952 in Tiffin, OH the son of Robert and Molly “Midge” (Kummerer) Myers.  Rick was a 1970 graduate of Old Fort High School and was proud to be a member of the 1968 State Champion Baseball Team.  He married Brenda Seils on November 27, 1971 at St. John’s Lutheran Church and she survives.

Rick was a diesel mechanic at Central Transport for 30 years until he retired.  He then was a custodian for Fremont City Schools for fifteen years until he retired from there in 2018.  Rick was an avid sports fan and loved the New York Yankees and Ohio State.  He enjoyed coaching his sons and played fast pitch softball for many years for St. John’s Lutheran.  Rick also enjoyed golfing and playing cards.

Rick is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Brenda Myers, Fremont; sons, Brent (Jennie) Myers, Garrett, IN, Chad Myers and Moe (Belinda) Myers both of Fremont; grandchildren, Blake and Cayden Myers, Sydney and Isabella Harrison; siblings, Robert (Chris) Myers, Jr. and Carol “Jean” Sklar both of Tiffin, Cheryl Willey, Clyde and Connie (Randy) Ardery, Fremont.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation: Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 6, 2024; 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, OH
