Richard “Rich” E. Rahrig

Richard E. Rahrig, 65, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born September 15, 1948 in Norwalk, OH, the son of Melvin and Beverly (Haines) Rahrig.

Rich married Marcia L. Davisson on June 22, 1968 in Fremont and she survives. Rich was a very hard worker all his life from being a painter (Ed Rahrig & Sons) to working at Eveready Battery Company. He was an avid gardener and animal lover. He raised Cocker Spaniels, turkeys, chickens and raised and showed three hundred Satin rabbits, winning many awards and trophies. Rich loved to go fishing and work in his yard and flower beds. He enjoyed watching NASCAR sprints, golf, NCAA basketball and all the family gatherings.

Rich is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Marcia Rahrig, Fremont, OH; daughters, Tammy L. (John) Zanetti, Findlay, OH, Tracy A. (Jeff) Bowser, Alliance, OH; Tanya J. Schardt, Fremont, OH; six grandchildren and two great granddaughters; brothers,

Melvin J., Robert, Michael and Dana Rahrig and sister, Shirleen Rahrig.

He was preceded in death by his parents and great grandson.

Visitation: Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Service: Thursday, July 10, 2014, 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Wisehart officiating.

Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
