Richard H. Hazzard, 81, of Lindsey, OH passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April, 28, 2018. He was born on April 11, 1937 in Port Clinton, OH to Hollis and Velma (Robron) Hazzard. He was a 1955 graduate of Port Clinton, High School.
Richard married Gladys Bundschuh on June 29, 1957 at St. Mark Lutheran Church and she survives. He owned and operated Hazzard’s Auto Repair. Richard enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR, stock car building and drag races but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family. Richard will be inducted in the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame in June.
Richard is survived by his wife of sixty years, Gladys Hazzard, Lindsey, OH; children, Jim (Lisa) Hazzard of Tennessee, Kim (Jim) Smith, Lindsey, OH, Beth (Brian) Hoffman and Rhonda (Bill) Taylor both of Fremont, OH; siblings, Ross (Shirley) Hazzard, Port Clinton, OH and Carole Fritz, Dayton, OH; seven grandchildren and ten great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: Friday from 4 to 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH
Service: Saturday, May 5, 2018, 11:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church, 1187 County Rd 128, Fremont, OH, with one hour of visitation at the church, prior to the service.
Burial: Lindsey Cemetery
