Richard E. Reardon
Richard E. Reardon, 79, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born May 31, 1934 in Riley Twp, OH, the son of Vincent and Cecilia (Mosser) Reardon. He attended St. Ann Catholic School.
Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Richard married Betty J. Battellini on April 26, 1958 at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2008.
He worked for the N & W Railroad for 38 years until he retired in 1995. He had also for the Herbrand Co. prior to the railroad. He loved the outdoors, gardening and working in the yard.
Richard is survived by his children, Christine Schaeffer, David Reardon both of Fremont, OH, Andy (Elizabeth) Reardon, Clyde, OH; grandchildren, Jordon (Sara) and Jennessa Schaeffer, Brandon, Jacob, Christopher and Madeline Reardon; sisters, Anna Shetzer, Fremont, OH, Alice (Donald) Black, Cottonwood, AZ, Janet Peters, Fostoria, OH; sister-in-law, Joyce Reardon, Fremont, OH and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty J. Reardon; grandson, Jeremy Schaeffer and brother, Donald Reardon.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014, 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, with Fr. Kenneth Lill officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 at the church prior to the service.
Private Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont at a later date.
Memorials: Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools.
