Reta Rae Errett, 74, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Elmwood Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing of Fremont. She was born on May 16, 1941 in Fremont, OH, the daughter of Ray and Burnice (Graber) Beckley.
Reta married David Szakovits in 1962. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1966. She then married Alfred Milo Errett on May 3, 1968 at Bradner United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2015.
Reta worked at Fremont Candy and Cigar for six years. She then was the church secretary for seventeen years at Memorial United Methodist Church, two years at Trinity United Methodist Church and five years at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church until she retired.
Reta was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time at her parent’s cottage in Walhalla, Michigan, traveling to Amish country and spending time with her family and friends.
Reta is survived by her children, David (Lisa) Szakovits, Austin, TX, Thomas (Valerie) Szakovits, Fremont, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, David Szakovits; second husband, Alfred Milo Errett.
Visitation: Monday from 5 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 10:30 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Brown officiating.
