Rea Karu Ripple

Rea Karu Ripple, 75, of Fremont, OH passed away at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  She was born on March 10, 1947 in Soltaw, West Germany, the daughter of Aleksander and Helmi E. (Mahl) Karu.  She was a 1965 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Hiram College and her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Toledo.  Rea married William Ripple on November 27, 1971 in Streetsboro, OH.  She was a teacher for thirty years at Fremont City Schools until she retired in 2007.  Rea was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed traveling, watching her shows and loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.  Rea was very proud of her Estonian Heritage.

Rea is survived by her husband of fifty years, William Ripple, Fremont, OH; son, Aleksander (Amy) Ripple, Reynoldsburg, OH; grandchildren, Sabrina and Henry Ripple.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Riina Karu.

Visitation:  Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH

Services:  Monday, August 8, 2022; 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
