Patricia “Patty” Louise Mcdermott

Patricia “Patty” Louise McDermott, 74, of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born on November 1, 1940 in Fremont, the daughter of William and Lucille (Halbeisen) Spieldenner. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School.

Patricia married Thomas F. McDermott on May 19, 1962 at St. Joseph Church in Fremont and he survives. She owned and worked for her own “In Home” Patient Care business. She had previously worked as a Beautician at the Lyon’s Store, as a Security Guard for Pinkerton, as a Nurses Aide at Bethesda Care Center and an Advanced E.M.T. for Gobel.

Patricia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Rosettes, Bunco Club, Catholic Ladies Columbia and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed ceramics, oil painting, scrap booking, spending time with her grandchildren and attending their events. She loved her dog, Mindy.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Thomas McDermott, Fremont, OH; children, Monica (John) Rich, Clyde, OH, Michelle (John) Hoffert, Fremont, OH, Marcia (Jim) Westgate, Swansea, MA, Maureen (Scott) Kerik, Marblehead, OH; grandchildren, Terese L. Cline, James Westgate II, Larisa Kerik and Kenneth Kerik.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leo and Harold Spieldenner; sister, Catheryn Spieldenner.

Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday March 13, 2015; 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH.

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery
