Nelson W. Cleveland

Nelson W. Cleveland, 83, of Fremont, OH went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 4, 2023.  He was born on May 10, 1940, in Fremont, OH to Carl Cleveland and Zelma (Ward) Cleveland-Dickerhoff.  Nelson was a 1958 graduate of Green Springs High School.

Nelson worked for Welly’s Potato Chip for five years, Robert Wolf Company for thirty-eight years and then Hilty’s until he retired.  He was a member of Grace Community Church where he was known for his fist bump greetings. Nelson enjoyed trains, tinkering with electronics, growing tomatoes, helping care for the garden and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. Nelson’s love for the Lord was great and he wanted to see everyone come to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Nelson is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Yvonne (Dearsman) Cleveland, Fremont, OH; children, Mary, Fremont, OH, Terry, Clyde, OH, Randy, Tiffin, OH and Peter (Michelle), Findlay, OH; siblings, Teresa Reineck, Paulding, OH, Allen (Mary) Cleveland, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Jason, Amber, Richard (Kaleigh) and James; great grandchildren, Vincent and Braydon.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Lyle Dickerhoff; brother-in-law, Frank Reineck; sister-in-law, Susan Cleveland.

Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, 10:30 am at Grace Community Church, 900 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.

Burial will take place at Green Springs Cemetery.
