Nancy E. Stearns

Nancy E. Stearns, 81, of Burgoon OH passed away at her home on November 29, 2023.  She was born to Arthur and Irene (Hughes) Lamalie on May 30, 1942 in Fremont OH.

During her life, Nancy was employed by Dayton Marine as a finisher for 16 ½ years but then retired from Fremont Plastics in 2007 after 19 years of employment.  Nancy was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Bettsville OH.  She also volunteered at many places including Memorial Hospital, the food pantry, and the Senior Center.  She enjoyed flowers, playing Dominos and Skip-Bo and adored her poodle Domino.

She is survived by her children; Mark (Della) Stearns, Tipp City OH, and Jennifer Oakley, Oak Harbor OH, grandchildren; Jessica (Mike) Woody, Ashley (Shane) Lynch and Michael Stearns, Brandi Stearns, Brett (Leah) Reyes, and Kevin (Violet) Mabe and nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Warren Lamalie, James Lamalie, Ruth Ann Elmer, Norma Jean Dubbert, Walter Lamalie and Mary Lou Homan.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 to Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Services will begin following the visitation at Noon at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Fremont, OH

Memorials can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
