Maynard E. Jackson, Sr.

Maynard E. Jackson, Sr., 53, of Fremont, OH passed away at home surrounded by his family, on Friday, January 4, 2019. He was born September 15, 1965 in Fremont to Arthur Jackson and Arlene (Swander) Jackson Wetzel.

Maynard married Judith Hoff on June 22, 2013 in Fremont and she survives. He worked construction at Erie Black Top, Jim Dennis Construction and Cal Wetzel Plumbing and Sewer.

Maynard was a member of the Fremont Eagles and enjoyed races, hunting, fishing and RC cars. He loved spending time outside and being in his pole barn. He was a 49ers fan and loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Maynard is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy” Jackson; children, Jo Jo (Tanya) Jackson, Ashley (Brad) Williams, Danielle (Bobby) Thompson, Alysha Williams, David Thompson, Timothy Lee Jackson and Maynard Jackson, Jr., Tasha Ann Jackson-Pollard, all of Fremont, OH; mother, Arlene Wetzel, Fremont, OH; siblings, Richard Jackson, Clyde, OH, Kirk (Karyn) Wetzel, Kent (Kristy) Wetzel and Bud Jackson, Kathy McClain, all of Fremont, OH, Larry Wetzel, of Michigan, Darlene (Duane) Leininger of Arizona and Marsha Ohms, Tiffin, OH; grandchildren, Aleesia Sue Jackson, David Salazar, Adrienne Wightman, Bradley Frech, Jr., Braeden Frech, Nevaeh Raypole, Bobby Raypole, Jr., Alanasia, John and Laicey Ana Raypole, Riley Williams, Raelyn Thompson, Izzy Guhn, Maria Thompson, Jordan Esquivel, Parker and Wayne Jackson, Malaysia Esquivel, Peyton and Melody Jackson and Kenya Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Arthur Jackson and Cal Wetzel; grandparents; uncles Joe and Bob; cousin Bobby Wetzel and his dog, Jake.

Visitation: Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420 with an Eagles Service beginning at 7:30p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family in care of Judy Jackson.
