Mary Elaine Aldrich

Mary Elaine Aldrich, 96, of Green Springs, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Green Springs, OH. She was born on December 25, 1916 in Green Springs, the daughter of Charles and Edna (Dawley) Sibbrel. She was a 1935 graduate of Green Springs High School.

Elaine married Lawrence Aldrich on February 24, 1940 in Green Springs and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1977.

Elaine was a Homemaker and owned and operated Aldrich Egg Farm on County Road 198 with her husband. She was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church, Pottersville Farm Women, Green Thumb Garden Club, Green Springs Grange Club, Mothers Club and Grandmothers Club of Clyde. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, quilting, reading and jigsaw puzzles. Elaine was a Cleveland Indians baseball fan. She was best known in her family for her “Sugar Cookies”.

Elaine is survived by her children, Joyce (Robert) Wickert, Fremont, OH, David (Linda) Aldrich, New Haven, IN, Sharon (Joe) Garcia, Clyde, OH; special niece, Marilyn Sugalski, Brandenton, FL; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one great-great grandchild due in the spring.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Aldrich; sister, Irene Cleveland and an infant brother, Carl Sibbrel.

Visitation: Sunday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St, Green Springs, OH.

Service: Sunday, March 3, 2013, 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor James Avers officiating.
