Mary E. Bartson

Mary E. Bartson, 81, of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH.  She was born on February 27, 1941 in Fremont, OH to William and Helen (Sorg) Eckhardt.  Mary was a cosmetologist and seamstress.  She attended St. Mark Lutheran Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Mary was an amazing artist and enjoyed everything from small canvas paintings to large murals.  She was also a fabulous baker, always baking with love and all of her food you could taste from afar.   She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and spending time with her family.  Mary was very supportive to her family and gave the best advise as if it was rehearsed.  She was angelically soft, kind, nonjudgmental and put herself last every time.

Mary is survived by her children, James Bartson, Jr., Oregon, OH and Katrina Hilton, Port Clinton, OH; significant other, Ray Rutan, Port Clinton, OH grandson, Reef Hilton, Port Clinton, OH and two granddaughters; and three great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Tracey Bartson; siblings, Ann Zilles, Billie Sidoti, Don Eckhardt and Carol Buchman; son-in-law, Bud Hilton; grandson, Justin Bartson.

Services are private.
