Marilyn J. Humbert, 75, of Green Springs, OH passed away on April 20, 2016 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on September 24, 1940 in Clyde, OH the daughter of Paul Joseph and Erva Jane (Wadsworth) Humbert. She was a 1958 graduate of Green Springs High School.
Marilyn was the bank manager at Croghan Colonial Bank in Green Springs where she worked for forty-four years until she retired in 2003. She was a member of New Hope Vineyard Christian Church in Fremont. Marilyn was the Treasurer of Stemtown Historical Museum in Green Springs, Green Springs Women’s Bowling League and the church. Marilyn was a member of the Green Springs Schools Alumni Association. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles, bowling, traveling to Spain, and listening to country music, especially Alan Jackson. She loved and adored her dog, Duke.
Marilyn is survived by her siblings, Carolyn (James) Edmonds, Green Springs, OH and Clinton (Gaynel) Humbert, Republic, OH; brother-in-law, James Shoemaker, Fremont, OH; nieces and nephews, Christy Billings, Michael Shoemaker, Kurt Humbert, Aaron Humbert, Shelly Weaver, Wes Reed and Adrienne Sandwisch along with great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Phylis Shoemaker and Beverly Humbert; niece, Lori Shoemaker and great-great niece, Kayelynn Humbert Howell.
Visitation: Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH.
Service: Saturday, April 23, 2016: 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor James Gippert officiating.
Burial: Green Springs Cemetery
