Margaret “Peg” M. Boyer, 70, of Fremont, OH passed away at her home on Friday, July 26, 2013. She was born on February 5, 1943 in Fremont, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret M. (Pressler) Oprie. She was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Peg worked in the Human Resource Department at the Sandusky County Courthouse for many years and retired in 2005. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Peg loved crafts, crocheting and knitting and was a member of Nifty Knitters in Clyde, OH, who make afghans and donate them to the Veterans Home and Hospice. She was an avid University of Michigan Fan. Peg’s favorite book and movie was “Gone With The Wind” and had a collection of memorabilia. She also enjoyed watching old movies and one that starred John Wayne. Peg was an animal lover, especially her dog, Belle. She loved spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Peg is survived by her children, Annette (Jeff) Maziarz of Michigan, Joseph Boyer, Fremont, OH, Melissa (William) Bundy, Cleveland, OH, David Boyer, Fremont, OH; Marybeth (Doug) Courtney, Toledo, OH; sister, Pat Oprie, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Nikki, Spencer, Nicholas, Abigail, Andrew, Jakob, Nathanial, Luke, Tim, Jonathon, Nathaniel, Melinda, Vanessa and Justin and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; uncles, Walt and Bob Pressler.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 11:00 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with visitation from 10:00 -11:00 am at the church prior to the service, 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, with Fr. Kenneth Lill officiating.
