Margaret “Margy” A. Smith

Margaret “Margy” A. Smith, 77, of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Parkview Care Center in Fremont. She was born January 13, 1944 in Tiffin, OH, the daughter of Raymond J. and Nellie R. (Deiter) Arend. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.

Margy worked at the H.J. Heinz Company where she retired after thirty-eight years of service. She was a member of the Fremont Moose and Eagles where she held office, American Legion, VFW and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Margy enjoyed playing bingo, going for walks and traveling with her friend, Jerry.

Margy is survived by her children, Robert E. (Marsha) Raubenolt, Stafford, VA, Raymond J. Smith, Huron, OH and Donnie Jo (Michelle) Smith, Fremont, OH; siblings, Mary C. Arend, Dumfries, VA, Larry Ray (Deb) Arend, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Josh A. Raubenolt, Ashleigh Ann (Michael) Raubenolt Morgan, Haley Michelle Raubenolt, Paige Alexandria Smith, Dylan James Smith, Mackenzie Marie Smith, Ryder Eli Smith, Zachary Zimmerman, Kyrsten White, Hannah Marie Smith, Robbie Smith, Emma Smith; eight great grandchildren and long-time friend, Jerry Lagrou.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Stephanie Smith and an infant brother, Raymond J. Arend, Jr.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from Noon until 2:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
