Lula I. Roberts
Lula I. Roberts, 95, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Parkview Care Center in Fremont. She was born April 13, 1918 in Smithfield, WV, the daughter of Dorsey and Masey (Ice) Shreves.
Lula married Harley B. Roberts in 1937 in West Virginia and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1972. She worked at Parkview Care Center, Bethesda Care Center, the YMCA, St. Frances Healthcare Center, the National Guard Armory and the Senior Center in Fremont. Lula was a past member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting.
Lula is survived by her daughters, Alberta (John) Hammer and Joyce Riffle, both Fremont, OH; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harley B. Roberts; siblings, Orville Shreves, Lenoa Callaghan, Amy Louise Thompson and Ruth Yost; great grandson, Brandon Dunsmore.
Visitation: Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH
Service: Thursday, December 26, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Forrest Kirchenbauer officiating.
Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH
Memorials: American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
