Lillie Mae Clayton

Lillie Mae Clayton, 94, of Fremont, OH passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 5, 1919 in Paulding, MS, the daughter of Q.B. and Fannie (Gilmer) McKinstry.

Lillie Mae married Sam Clayton in 1941 in Mississippi and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was a Housekeeper and a Caregiver for over thirty years.

Lillie Mae was a member and Mother Board member at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Her home church was County Line Baptist Church in Paulding, MS where she was very active as an Usher, Group Leader, Press Service and gave testimonials. Lillie Mae loved sewing, cooking, and her family whom she was very proud of.

Lillie Mae is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann Rucker, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Robert Clayton, James (Lori) Mitchell Clayton, both of Fremont, OH, Joann Clayton, Greenwood, MS, Glendara Clayton, Columbus, OH, Janice Buckley, Nickelsville, KY; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Clayton; daughter, Ethel (Robert) Evans; granddaughter, Sheila Taylor; son-in-law, Issac Rucker; brothers, Luther Clyde McKinstry, George McKinstry; sister, Jessie Lindsey.
