Lendell “Lenny” E. Wheatley

Lendell “Lenny” E. Wheatley, 72, of Fremont, OH passed away on July 21, 2024 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1952 in Elmore, OH the son of Robert and Doris (Hovis) Wheatley. Lenny was a 1972 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and Vanguard Vocational School. He also graduated from Terra Community College Truck Driving School.

Lenny married Brenda Bruggeman on October 7, 1989 in Elmore, OH and she survives. He worked at Eveready for twenty-seven years until they closed in Fremont. Lenny then received his truck driving license and drove for MCS for seventeen years until he retired in 2017.

Lenny was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Clyde Eagles. He enjoyed boating, light houses and riding motorcycles with his son. Lenny also had his pilot’s license. He loved his dog, Rudy and spending time with his family.

Lenny is survived by his wife, Brenda Wheatley; children, Amy (Matt) Kreilick, Anne Wheatley-Ceccoli and Brian (Carrie Duncan) Wheatley; grandchildren, McKenna, Alivia, Serena, Allyssa, Aiden and Landen; great grandchildren, Ivanna and Cataleya all of Fremont, OH.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Roland, Wayne and Paul Wheatley, Audrey Filson and Twyla Wyatt.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Memorials can be made in his honor to American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
