Larry Tim Swartz

Larry Tim Swartz, 69, of Green Springs, OH passed away on December 22, 2024 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 21, 1955 in Bellevue, OH the son of Ralph and Pauline (Nycum) Swartz. Larry was a 1974 graduate of Clyde High School and received a degree from Owens Community College in Robotics Engineering.

Larry married Gretchen Bland on December 31, 1982 in Syracuse, NY and she survives. Larry was in the sales department with McNaughton-McKay for thirty-two years until he retired in 2020. 

Larry was known for his quick wit, unwavering loyalty, and unmatched generosity. Whether offering a clever remark that could brighten the darkest day and dedicating time and energy to family, friends, and causes close to his heart. He was passionate about organizing the Green Springs VFW golf outing, playing Santa for kids, coaching youth sports and coordinating Wii Bowling tournaments. Above all, Larry was the most enthusiastic and dedicated Ohio State Buckeye fan. He always went above and beyond for those he loved.

Larry’s dedication was evident in every aspect of life- from his personal relationships to his professional commitments. He was always ready to lend a hand, a word of encouragement, or much-needed laugh. Larry made a lasting impact on everyone he met, leaving a legacy of kindness, humor and loyalty.

Larry is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Gretchen Swartz, Green Springs; daughters, Jessica (John) Kosiewicz, Seven Hills, OH, Courtney Cantu, Green Springs, Tabatha (Lucas) Elson, Pemberville; grandchildren, Brandon Swartz, Collin Cantu, Ty and Leo Elson; twin sister, Cheri (Steve Krupp) Alt, Norwalk and brother, Ralph “Butch” (Georgia) Swartz, Green Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
