Larry Franklin Koppelman, of Fremont, OH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. He was born October 19, 1943 in Fremont, the son of Franklin C. and Jean E. (Dosh) Koppelman. He was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Larry served in the U.S. Air Force from April 19, 1963 to April 19, 1967 during Vietnam. He married Faye Shiver on September 10, 1965 at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA.
Larry was a Machine Repairman at Ford Motor Company in Maumee, OH where he retired after many years of service. He previously worked at Peter Eckrich Co. and was the owner of Larry’s Gulf Station.
Larry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was a Sacristan and a member of the Confraternity and Men’s ACTS Retreat. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, the Fremont Eagles and VFW. Larry was a playground supervisor at Sacred Heart School. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He and Faye wintered in Okeechobee, FL every year. Larry was known by many with his infectious laugh and always had his toothpicks.
Larry is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Faye Koppelman; children, Michael (Connie) Koppelman and Michelle Koppelman; sister Vickie (Marvin) Wright, all of Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Reegan (Molly) Koppelman, Palm Bay, FL, Kaylee Warner, Fremont, OH; great-grandchildren, Tate and Kane Koppelman; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Joette Koppelman.
Visitation: Monday, October 25, 2021 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Rd., Fremont, OH
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church.
