Kenneth Elmer Zepernick, 87, of Green Springs, OH passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 6, 1933 in Clyde, OH the son of Elmer and Florence (Craig) Zepernick. Kenneth was a 1951 graduate of Green Springs High School. He married Vanana Brown on July 11, 1957 and she survives. After graduation Kenneth entered active duty with the US Navy being honorably discharged in June of 1954. He then joined the US Air Force where he served his country until he retired in 1972. Following his retirement from the military Kenneth worked in the maintenance department at Clyde-Green Springs Schools until he retired.
Kenneth was a little league coach, member of the Green Springs V.F.W., American Legion and Calvary United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, doing puzzles and studying his family’s ancestry.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Vanana Zepernick; sons, Kenneth Zepernick Jr., Green Springs, OH and Kevin Zepernick, Louisville, KY; siblings, Ruthann Audritsh, Woodburn, OR, Elizabeth (Ted Overmyer) Butzin, Helena, OH; brother-in-law, David Christoff, Woodburn, OR; grandchildren, Kari (Zepernick) Goble and Benjamin Zepernick; great grandson, Alex Goble and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Zepernick; son, Keith Zepernick and sisters, Jeanne Cleveland and Jane Christoff.
Visitation: Friday, March 26, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St, Green Springs, OH.
Masks will be required during visitation.
A private burial will be held at a later date at the Green Springs Cemetery.
