Kay “Toby” Ann Auxter

Kay “Toby” Ann Auxter, 82, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Elmwood Communities of Fremont.  She was born January 4, 1940 in Fremont, the daughter of Sylvan “Tobe” and Kathryn (King) Babione.  She was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School.  Toby married Larry Auxter on July 2, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2001.  She was a homemaker and a former member of St. Casimir Church, a member of St. Joseph Church and the Altar Rosary Society.  Toby was a volunteer at St. Joseph cafeteria.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, flower arranging and traveling.  Toby’s biggest joy was spending time with her family.

Toby is survived by her children, Donald (Kimberley) Auxter, Gibsonburg, OH, Lynne Wetoskey, Fremont, OH and Arlene (Brad) McCarty, Fostoria, OH; sister, Sue Babione, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Kenneth (Sarah) Auxter, Andrew Wetoskey, Joseph Auxter, Ross Wetoskey, Erin McCarty and Ruari McCarty.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Auxter; son-in-law, Nolan Wetoskey.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Valleyview Healthcare, Elmwood Communities and a special thank you to Brenda Foos, who was her hospice nurse, for their loving care of Toby.

Visitation:  Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial:  Friday, March 25, 2022; 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH.

Burial:  St. Joseph Cemetery

Memorials:  St. Joseph Church or Bishop Hoffman Catholic Education Development Fund
