Karen D. Giesler, 81, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on October 21, 2017. She was born on December 26, 1935 in Lacarne, OH the daughter of Clayton and Esther (Rice) St Clair. She was a 1953 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
Karen married Kermit G. Giesler on July 31, 1954 in Port Clinton, OH and he survives. She was a homemaker for many years then went to work for Standard Products until she retired in 1993. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, cooking and baking. Karen loved her pets and spending time with her family.
Karen is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Kermit Giesler, Fremont; children, Kathleen (Gus) Mathews, Jr., Pittsburgh, PA, Kristina Bradner, Fremont, IN, Karyle Marquez and Kevin (Sheree) Giesler both of Fremont, OH, Kurt (Sheila) Giesler, Roanoke, TX and Karl (Gina) Giesler, Naples, FL; siblings, Beverly (James) Johansen and Dennis (Joyce) St Clair both of Port Clinton, OH; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; care givers, Tala Thompson and Tabby Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jean Christ.
Visitation: Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Click officiating.
