Julia D. Collins, 93, of Green Springs, and formerly of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully, at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. She was born December 4, 1922 in Fremont, the daughter of E. L. and Laurel (Ash) Clouser. She was a 1940 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Julie married Stanley Cotterman in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She married Lee Collins in July of 1962 and he preceded her in death in 1986. Julia was a Seamstress and a Homemaker. She worked for S.E. Hyman Company from 1941 until 1945. Julie then worked as a Cook at Countryside Continuing Care Center from 1970 until she retired in 1984.
Julie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sunday School Teacher for many years, Rainbow Circle and In-Betweeners. She also volunteered at Countryside Continuing Care Center. She was a founding member and volunteer of Sandusky County Share and Care where she was First President of the Board in 1989. She was also a Campfire Leader. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family. Julie was a proud cancer survivor for over fifty-three years. The family would like to thank Stein Hospice and their staff for the excellent care they provided for Julie.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Linda (Dave) McKeever, Clyde, OH; grandchildren, Kelly (Tami) Tharp, Green Springs, OH, Jason (Misti) McKeever, Fremont, OH; great grandchildren, Kayla (Joe) VanCalster, McComb, OH, Joshua Culbertson, Green Springs, OH and Madison McKeever, Bellevue, OH; great-great granddaughter, Angeline VanCalster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Stanley Cotterman; second husband, Lee Collins; brother, Ruel Clouser.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Lindsey Cemetery.
