Juanita "Alice" Davis

Juanita “Alice” Davis, 80 of Fremont, OH passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born on May 6, 1944 in Robstown, TX to Marcos and Jesusa (Cruz) Herrera.

Alice married Joe A. Davis on November 4, 1972 and he preceded her in death on September 6, 2019. Prior to marrying Joe, she worked for Singer Controls as a seamstress. She then went on to work for St. Francis as a nurse’s aide and retired from Elmwood Nursing Home. Alice was a member of New Hope Vineyard Church. She enjoyed history, sewing, reading, old tv shows, dancing to Elvis Presley and was fashionable. Her pride and joy was spending time with her grandchildren. 

Alice is survived by her children, Carrie (Chris) Canode, Danielle Davis, Jose Davis; grandchildren, Joshua (Whitney) Canode, Jessicia (Simon Turner) Canode, Michael Canode; grand-fur-baby, Drogo; siblings, Molly (Louie) Rodriguez, Margie (Gabor) Seres, Lucy (Louis) Herrera, George (Paula) Herrera, Ricardo “Rick” Herrera, Isabel (Rory) Keyes and numerous cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Clara Paul, Chris Chapa, Joe Chapa, Mary Papesh, Virginia Guerrero, Patsy Ortega, Fred Herrera and sister-in-law, Candie Herrera.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.

Services will be on Friday, November 8, 2024, 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Buxsel officiating.

Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH.
