Joyce A. Hammond, 70 of Fremont, OH passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. She was born on March 11, 1943 in Fairborn, OH to George and Christine (Smith) Hammond. Joyce received her associate’s degree in Law Enforcement from Terra Community College.
Joyce worked as a Clerk for the US Postal Service for thirty years retiring in 2009. She was a member of the Rivers of Living Water Ministries where she was ordained as a Reverend. She had a passion for music and she loved to sing at church. Joyce would also collect musical instruments and give them to local children. She went on a mission trip to Liberia with the Africa House. Joyce loved to collect supplies for the needy and send them to Africa. She was a NRA instructor and enjoyed photography.
Joyce is survived by her children, Joy (Van) Cheshier-Tinch, Dallas, TX, Judy (Rick) Cheshier-Halloran, Fremont, OH, Russ (Gina) Denslow and Darlene Denslow-Round, both of Sandusky, OH, Kolleen Denslow-Crall, Ashland, OH; brother, Roger Hammond of Washington; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dawn Morgan.
Visitation: Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rivers of Living Water Ministries, 604 Howland St., Fremont, OH 43420.
Service: Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at the church with Bishop Robert Jones officiating.
Burial: Dana Cemetery, Green Creek Township.
