Jose R. Rodriguez
Jose “Cheese” R. Rodriguez, 69, of Fremont, OH passed away on May 10, 2014 at Parkview Care Center in Fremont, OH. He was born on April 27, 1945 in Benavides, TX to Jose and Alicia (Benavides) Rodriguez. He married Alicia A. Avalos in 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2008.
Jose worked for many years at Tony’s Bakery and also the Fremont Kraut Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a trustee for the Cristo Rey Center. He loved fishing, hunting, biking, playing pool and swimming. He also enjoyed having cook outs, watching baseball and listening to Elvis Presley.
Jose is survived by his children, Jose “Joe” L. Rodriguez, Fremont, Efred (Misty) Rodriguez, Northwood, OH, Danny Lee Rodriguez and Jamie Johnson both of Fremont; Sisters, Mary Smithwick, Virginia Perez, both of Kingsdale, TX, and Alma Muehe, Alice, TX, Lydia Benavides and Angelina Perez both of Benavides, TX; grandchildren, Jacob and Julian Rodriguez, Gabriel Rangel, Evan and Dylan Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alicia Rodriguez; brothers, Jose Oscar Rodriguez and Flavio Rodriguez; sister, Belia Carrales; grandson, Ayden Rodriguez.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, OH
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH
